IL MERCATO DELLE GAITE

The “Mercato delle Gaite” of Bevagna is one of the most famous events in Umbria, and a moment when all the streets of the medieval village come alive with people and noises from the old shops. The four districts in which Bevagna was divided in the past (which in the Middle Ages were called “Gaite”) compete against each other, interpreting the role they played in the Middle Ages and recreating the daily life of the 13th century with great detail and historical rigor.
