The Museum of Ceramics
The Regional Museum of Ceramics of Deruta is the oldest Italian museum for ceramics. Established in 1898, it preserves over 6000 pieces and is housed in the 14th-century convent complex of Saint Francis, completely restored. Today an underground tunnel connects the museum with the archaeological area and allows for a unique itinerary that winds from the ancient kilns for firing ceramics to the museum’s collections.
